Privacy Policy for Whirl

This Privacy Policy explains how JtycEdgeTech ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Whirl mobile application ("the App"). Whirl lets you spin a wheel to decide anything by creating and sharing pools of choices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the App:

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture from Google. You may also set and change a display username within the App.
Content you create. The pools, choices, and spin history you create or participate in are stored so the App can function and sync across sessions.
Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store a device notification token so we can deliver relevant updates. You can disable notifications at any time in the App's Settings.
Diagnostics and crash data. We collect anonymized crash reports and basic device information (such as device model, operating system version, and app version) to diagnose problems and improve stability.

We do not collect payment information, precise location, contacts, or biometric data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
To provide core features such as creating, sharing, and spinning wheels.
To deliver notifications you have opted into.
To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance and reliability.

3. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following trusted service providers, who process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

Google Sign-In — authentication — policies.google.com/privacy
Supabase — backend, database, authentication, and storage — supabase.com/privacy
Firebase (Google) — Crashlytics crash reporting and Cloud Messaging notifications — firebase.google.com/support/privacy

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties except the service providers listed above that are necessary to operate the App, or where required by law. Content you choose to share (for example, a pool shared via a link or QR code) becomes accessible to people you share it with.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal or legitimate operational reasons.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
